About the Event

NHAO will be hosting a "Pet Food Bank" offering reduced price pet food at our new location, 2919 N. Oakland Avenue on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00AM - 12:00PM (noon) for low income families.  Cash or credit only, no checks will be accepted. Be Aware: Due to the increased need from the community, we are implementing limits on the amount of supplies (food & litter) a household can receive for a donation of half the retail value of the items. The maximum amounts per household are as follows: Canned food         30 cans Dog food               50 pounds Puppy food             40 pounds Cat Food                 40 pounds Kitten food              20 pounds Litter                      40 pounds We also have used pet beds, collars, leashes, bowls, toys and coats that are available at nominal prices. Just let us know and we can show you a selection of items. Prairie, Decatur IL   217-428-3458 ***Special Instructions*** In light of the recent COVID 19 pandemic and our desire to follow the most up-to-date CDC recommendations for public health and safety, beginning Saturday morning, March 28th, New Hope Animal Outreach will operate it's Pet Food Bank as "Drive Up-Walk Up" from 10:00am to Noon. 1. As you arrive by car, please stay in your car and a NHAO volunteer will give you a number and show you where to park. If you arrive by bus, you will be given a number and will be shown where to wait. Social distancing will be in force. 2. The PFB volunteer will take your order. She will write your order on a PFB Ticket with the prices. The amount due will be collected. 3. The Ticket & Payment will be given to your Personal Shopper who will gather your order together and make your payment. Your change/CC will be delivered to you with your order by your Personal Shopper. Sanitizing will take place throughout this process, but you are also advised to sanitize the bags/cans/containers once you are home. These are difficult times and we appreciate your patience with this process. It will take some extra time. We are trying our best to keep it as organized and fair to everyone as we can. Again, please remember: If you arrive by car, Do Not get out of your car. If you arrive by bus, wait in your designated area and at no time Enter The Building. Thank you.
