Volunteer
When you volunteer with New Hope Animal Outreach (NHAO) you’re giving the animals the greatest gift of all: Your time!
We are always looking for Volunteers to help with our mission of helping area pets have the best life possible. If you have a love of animals and time to spend with them, or for them, we'd like to talk to you and see how we can fit your talents with one of our programs.
What are our needs right now?
We need people to help in our ReTail Shop so we can offer longer hours and more days when the Shop is open. This raises money to help fund our programs.
We need a Volunteer to take charge of our Education Program to offer speakers to the community on Pet Care, Pet Issues, and other topics pertaining to humane ownership.
Let's teach our school children how to approach a dog, how to take care of their pet and how to respect animals.
Help us get animal issues out into the public by providing speakers to service groups, churches and schools. Education is the best way to make sure animal issues are understood and supported in the community.
We need Foster Homes. We are lucky in Decatur IL to have two excellent shelters and that need is currently being met within our community.
We are interested in starting up the New Hope Rescue Program where animals are placed in Foster Homes, in a family environment, where they strengthen their social skills and are more prepared for their Forever Homes.
We need Volunteers to help with fundraising events. Now that the pandemic might be getting under control, we are looking at the possibility of holding more events.
We need YOU. Find out more about our Volunteer Opportunities. Have ideas of how you can help us? Please get in touch! We'd love to welcome you into New Hope Animal Outreach!
